welland's residential developments

Located in south central Niagara, as a smaller member of the region, the City of Welland was once overlooked by homebuyers. In the last decade, Welland has undergone several facelifts, to create a new reputation for itself as a thriving community for families. The city has seen revitalization in both the downtown core and in a residential boom of new single-detached subdivisions for young families.

Subdivision growth and expansion

Subdivisions have been popping up across Welland and Fonthill, the neighbouring town to the north, creating growing vitality by drawing new families into the City.

The two following graphs demonstrate Welland's new housing starts and completions. The graph indicates Welland’s steady and increasing growth in the new housing market over the past 3 years, 2014 shows the most growth, adding 214 single-detached and freehold town homes. The information below is provided by CMHC.
