Fonthill is moving into 2016 with another announcement of new development. It was just early December when construction began on the Rosewood Estates development within the East Fonthill Secondary Plan zone and then this past Tuesday, Pelham town councillors agreed to move $37 million for a multi-use complex into the town's capital budget.

Pelham’s new multi-use complex

Construction on the new complex could begin as early as August of this year, though the city has yet to secure any provincial or federal funding for the project. Original reports, saw the community centre budgeted for 2017.

The complex’s amenities will include multi-purpose space, a walking track, an atrium, a gymnasium, a concession stand and a large arena with seating for up to 1500. If demand grows in the future from residents, potential is there to add an additional ice pad to added to the complex.  The complex will be located within the East Fonthill Secondary plan development boundaries.
