Lincoln Value Centre adding a new retail building

new building in the walmart plaza on welland avenue

I cover developments in downtown St. Catharines and areas like Port Dalhousie frequently on this blog, so this week we look to another area of St. Catharines, the North West, otherwise known as Bunting.

The Bunting area of St. Catharines runs along Welland Ave to the QEW along Dieppe Road to the Skyway Bridge and down Bunting Road. The areas largest commercial cluster centres around the corner of Bunting Rd. and Welland Ave.

The Bunting Rd. and Welland Ave. plaza will soon welcome new retail outlets as their newest retail building moves closer to completion. The plaza, formally known as the Lincoln Value Centre, has been constructing the new 15,000 sq. ft. pad since winter. The building's announced tenants will add additional clothing and accessories options to the value centre.

What will the new retail building look like

The 15, 000 sq. ft. I-shapped building will hold space for 4 retail units. It's design and look is similar to the stand alone strip units you find at the Fourth Avenue Smart Centre. Two of the four units have been leased. Ardene’s will occupy the buildings largest unit and Sally’s Beauty Supply will occupy one of the middle units. The building is located next to the joint Wendy's, Tim Horton's building.

Ardene’s just recently departed the Fourth Avenue Smart Centre and operates two other retail outlets in St. Catharines, at the Fairview Mall and the Pen Centre. Sally Beauty Supply currently operates a store in Fourth Avenue’s Smart Centre development.

Lincoln Value Centre

With it's combined five buildings, the Lincoln Value Centre, provides over 355,870 sq. ft. of retail space in a strip store, style mall. The new pad will add an additional 15,000 sq. ft. of retail space and four new units. At this time, there are a number of units in the previously established West building for lease.

The centre offers easy access to the QEW and is located along one of St. Catharines strong retail nodes. The Briarfield Shopping Centre transverses the Lincoln Value Centre to the East and smaller stand alone stores line Welland Ave. to the South.

Who are the current tenants of the Lincoln Value Centre

The 17 store strip mall is owned by Retrocom REIT, it's anchor tenants include Canadian Tire, Walmart, No Frills and it's master tenants are, Dollarama and United Furniture.

Other stores include:

  • Fabricland

  • Wendy’s

  • Tim Horton’s

  • China Buffet

  • Goodwill

  • Penningtons
